Just as the name implies, this is the most commonly found type of pool in Tucson. These pools come in a variety of shapes including a Kidney design, Rectangle, Lazy Ell, and Oval. They may include a spa. Different decking options are available, such as concrete, cool deck, and pavers. In-ground cleaning systems are typically found in the newer swimming pools, as are lagoons, and even shooting fountains/jets of water.
This pool can be any shape or design, but typically is rectangular. Other shapes include Double Roman End, Gothic, and a True Ell. The primary feature of a sport pool its depth. They are typically 5' 6" deep the entire length of the pool. These pools are designed for kids and sports such as basketball, volleyball, and swimming. They also cost slightly less to build since they do not have to be dug as deep.
Modern pools are generally found in the backyards of modern homes. Clean lines, geometric shapes, and mosaic tiles are somewhat standard with this pool type. The pool shapes we see most typically with modern style pools are Tee, Rectangle, Grecian, and Double Rectangle. Simple design does not mean low costs, as the materials and systems used in these pools are usually of some of the most cutting-edge available.
Very popular in Tucson ten years ago and still popular today are tropical pool designs. These pools are usually the most expensive to have built due to the extensive built-in features. Lots of decking, inset boulders and waterfalls (some pools have grottos), swim-up bars, fountains, and even a fire are commonly found features. These pools come in all shapes Mountain Pond, Celebrity, Lagoon, Mountain Lake, and Oasis are popular. These shapes have the most curvature. Extensive landscaping with lush palm trees and other tropical plants are also common with the theme. If the vegetation is watered, many tropical and hybrid tropical plant species can thrive in the Tucson area.
This is a blend of the modern and tropical pool. The design will be clean and minimal, but have features like swim-up bars, built in BBQs, and a lagoon area as well. Shapes for this pool type are consistent with Lazy Ell, True Ell, Rectangle, Gothic, and Grecian.
